Going to War
Private Henrik Nøbbe from Denmark served in Iraq to help the local’s re- build their country. Unfortunately, Henrik Nøbbe did not come back alive. During combat with local rebels, he lost his life.
In February 2007, at age 20, Private Henrik Nøbbe went to Iraq together with the ninth and last group of Danish soldiers. Throughout the last couple of months before his duty in Iraq was to begin, I photographed Henrik and his army friends.
On the 14th of May 2007 while on a mission, Henrik Nøbbe was deadly wounded by a sniper. The rest of his group tried to save his life, but regrettably he died before he reached the hospital.
Pictures from Iraq are photographed by friends of Henrik Nøbbe and have been given approval to be used.
